“Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.” Psalm 96:3
Global Opportunity is a non-profit Christian missions organization located in Thailand serving Southeast Asia. Global Opportunity greatly desires to reach the unreached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by discipling believers and mobilizing local church leaders so they can reach their own people for the Lord.
“For You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.”
There is not a person beyond the reach of the Eternal, Living God.
He desires greatly to reach and teach each one that He has made in His glorious image.
Reach – to succeed in communicating with or influencing someone.
To reach someone we engage with him or her as Jesus Himself did- in day-to-day, real-life interaction and life experiences. Reaching is about relationship; which is listening and loving. We reach others with the love of God so they can go and reach others.
Teach – to cause to learn by example or experience.
To teach someone we must take the time to instruct and encourage just as Jesus did with the few (and sometimes many) that His Father called Him to teach. We teach others so the Holy Spirit can change them, then they go and teach others.
Reach + Teach = Discipleship
In Matthew 28:19 Jesus told us to, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”
In the Strong’s Concordance of the Bible, the Greek word for “make disciples” was assigned the number 3,100. It is defined as being a disciple and making disciples. It is more than simply being a pupil or gaining knowledge; it literally means being a student and a teacher simultaneously. It is teaching others what you are learning. It is discipleship.
By naming our discipleship program 3100, we believe the true meaning of discipleship will be at the heart of all that the Lord Jesus has called us to do.
Reach + Teach = 3100
The goal of 3100 is to take people from the onset of believing to the effectiveness of ministry beginning with six basic discipleship lessons. Upon completion, one will understand how to sustain a relationship with the Lord on their own, live their life reflecting God’s love, and use His love to reach and teach others in their oikos.
“Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them!” (Matthew 19:14 NLT). The word “children” in Greek is “pie-dee-on”. We’ve modified our 3100 discipleship program specifically for children called 3100π, so that children can be discipled to the point that they can confidently share their story of God’s love.
This program uses the influence and draw of English to create an access point in a community for the Gospel to ultimately take root. 3100e is simply a net to attract people who desire to learn English, then introduce them to Jesus and give them the opportunity to take part in our discipleship program.
Even before a baby has been born, he or she has a heartbeat. That physical heartbeat represents our new spiritual life in Christ.
To be able to enjoy and sustain this new life, one must learn to breathe. Breathing is a good example of our prayer life. This second lesson teaches the importance of breathing in your new spiritual life.
Like breathing, prayer is continual; it is literally talking with God. Just as breathing is in and out, so is communicating with God. It comes from God in to us, and goes out of us to Him. Breathing is the sustaining power of our new life in Christ.
Now that you have a heartbeat (new life) and are breathing (prayer), you want to live a long and healthy spiritual life. You can do this by eating your spiritual food, which is the Word of God. In order to do this we need a balanced spiritual diet. This means consistent prayer, worship and feeding on the Word of God. It simply means to do what the Bible says!
Now that you are maturing, embrace the call that God has for you. God calls you to spread the Gospel and teach new believers to obey all of His ways. You can now proceed with purpose teaching others about the good news of salvation and discipling them.
